Pie Baking Contest Rules
Contest Rules:
- The person entering the contest must have made the pie from scratch, including the crust.
- Two identical pies, must be submitted for each entry.
- Pies must be made in disposable 9” pans, with a plastic lid. Pie pans and plastic lids will be available Oct. 13th to Oct. 17th, at Wildflowers Florist, or you can buy your own.
- The recipe (for both pie filling and crust) must be turned in with each entry. This is to be used by the judges and will not be shared.
- There are four (4) pie categories: cream, fruit, nut and custard pies.
- Cream - filling is cooked on the stove, then poured in precooked crust
- Fruit - filling is primarily fruit
- Nut - filling is primarily nuts
- Custard - filling is poured into crust and baked in an oven
- The entry cost is $15 for your first entry, and $10 for each additional entry. An individual may enter as many pies as they like.
- Prizes will be awarded for each category as follows: First place $100, second place $75, third place $50.
- A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded to one of the four (4) first place winners.
- Pie drop off times are: Friday, October 17th 10am to 6pm and Saturday, October 18th, 8am to 10am. The drop off location is Wildflowers Florist, 702 Conrad Hilton Blvd.
- All pies submitted become the property of Cisco Strong and will be sold and/or auctioned off, with proceeds benefitting Cisco Strong’s mission.
- The pie contest schedule is:
- Judging of pies - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Awards ceremony, at the Pavilion - 1:30 p.m.
- Auction of winning pies, at the Pavilion - 1:45 p.m.
- Winning pie slices for sale at 1:45 p.m. at Wildflowers Florist
- Whole pie sales, at Wildflower Florist - 1:45 p.m.
